Past the sheiling through the town
all for the sake of Mairi

Brighter cheeks as rowans are
brighter eye as any star
The fairest of them all
by far is our darling Mairi

Plenty herring plenty meal
plenty peat to fill her creel
Plenty bonny bairns as weel
that´s the toast for Mairi

Brothers left and Brothers right
havin' a big crack tonight
Scotsmen on their native bikes
that´s the ride for Mairi

Step we gaily on we go
heel for heel and toe for toe
