Sailship - Conclusion: Dancing Letters
Finally it’s time
To put away my pen
And gather up all the letters dancing around my desk
Below my lamp
They gather and write themselves a sentence
I honestly need nothing more than rest
But if I should die before I wake
I realize I have just one more thing to say I tried to write
About climbing trees in winter
I turned into a wolf, my ghost visited you at night
I mixed up metaphors, watched clouds and airplanes soar
But here at the end I notice some words I forgot to write
Because here, they form themselves to tell you:
“I love you too”
To put away my pen
And gather up all the letters dancing around my desk
Below my lamp
They gather and write themselves a sentence
I honestly need nothing more than rest
But if I should die before I wake
I realize I have just one more thing to say I tried to write
About climbing trees in winter
I turned into a wolf, my ghost visited you at night
I mixed up metaphors, watched clouds and airplanes soar
But here at the end I notice some words I forgot to write
Because here, they form themselves to tell you:
“I love you too”
